2, 4, 6, 8..Already!?

AHHHH I’ve never (okay barely) been late on posting about their month birthdays, but this was a crazy hectic week! We have had family in town so we have been all over the place. And Nelly Jane got very sick. She is now thankfully on the road to being her happy, healthy self again!

I am so shocked that my little babies are now 8 months old. CAN THEY PLEASE GO BACK TO THIS SIZE!?

I am kidding. Although I do miss those little mushy, non-mobile babes, things have gotten easier as they have gotten older. Plus I love seeing their personalities develop. That’s one (of many) questions we get asked a lot, “Are their personalities the same?” Nope. Definitely not. Mr. Jones is the snuggliest cuddle bug of all times. He loves to smile at you and laugh. And my goodness does he love his jumper!! Even if he is not in the jumper, if you’re holding him, he’s jumping. He’s just working on them thighs ;) He also is more attentive to Nelly. She sees him and messes with him every here and there, but Jones will crack up laughing just looking at her! It is the cutest thing. He always is reaching for her and trying to play with her, but she is just like “ehh”. She loves him too, but she is my independent baby who loves to do her own thing. It’s precious. Nelly loves smiling too, but boy oh boy does she make you work for it. She won’t just give smiles out for free. She is a sassy little thing + I love it… until she is sassy to me. That’s why she isn’t really a cuddle bug. She would much rather just do her own thing and explore on her own. Except when daddy comes home, she loves to snuggle up in his arms and watch some sports with him. It’s precious.

They do have their similarities as well. They both LOVE watching TV. I never wanted to be that parent that always was calming and quieting their children with the TV but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. Like last night at dinner, Jones was being a bit of a crazy man. As soon as I turned on Mickey Mouse on my phone, he hushed right up and watched it. They both love that show, but Nelly would rather people watch at dinner. She’s nosey (like me). They also both love the pool. Jones really loves it, but Nelly loves it too. I swear Jones is practically swimming! Take him out of his floaty and he’s just about doggy paddling around the pool. Another thing they love is their crib + house. They never sleep quite as well as they do when they are in their cribs. I have noticed that whenever we are traveling or in hotels, they tend to fuss a little more. They really like their daily routine (duh. That’s why I created one) and they can always tell when they are out of their element. They like their cribs, jumpers, and living room playtime much more than like traveling around. Well too bad babes, because we have lots of trips planned to go visit Daddy this season!

It is crazy how fast these past 8 months have flown by and that another baseball season is literally right around the corner. During the first couple of weeks, I honestly didn’t think I was going to make it to this point. But here we are, soaking up every second we can with Daddy! Its funny because Jake was just saying the other day how when he first got home from the season, he was afraid to even be alone with them while I showered. But he really stepped up to the plate (Lulz) and helped out tremendously while I would work, study, and go to class. I am so impressed with his parenting skills. He is definitely a natural + made these past 8 months much easier + more fun!
